As I entered Cafe Tengo, I was immediately struck by the friendly atmosphere. Reviews from customers like Kirsty attest to the welcoming vibe, mentioning their experience enjoying generous waffles with a view of the charming church. It's that significant ambiance that enhances your café experience—whether you are here for a sweet treat or a hearty meal.

One of the standout features of Cafe Tengo is its ability to cater to a diverse clientele. Kamala Adams shared her surprise at finding a solid vegan breakfast option amidst the predominantly meat-based menu. The scrambled tofu reportedly proved to be a delicious choice, showcasing the café's commitment to inclusivity and creativity in the kitchen. While more meat alternatives would be welcome, the effort made is commendable.

For those seeking a casual lunch, Doug Neilson pointed out that although the welcome was slightly offhand, the food was fresh, hot, and tasty, indicative of the care taken in its preparation. The café embraces the 'cooked to order' philosophy, ensuring quality over speed. This approach is perfect for those who appreciate a simple yet delicious meal that makes it worth the wait.

Their friendliness complements the lovely atmosphere; dogs are welcome too, making this a perfect stop for pet owners. As I savored the experience at Cafe Tengo, I couldn't help but consider how merging quality food with a comforting setting can elevate an ordinary café outing into an extraordinary memory. Just popped in for waffles, they were big! Nice enough place and friendly staff. Nice view of the church.

Lovely corner cafe, staff were really friendly and welcoming food was lovely, dogs welcome nice atmosphere very chilled and calming

Last time I was in St Austell I ate meat, so coming here as a vegan was a shock, but actually discovering that this cafe had a vegan breakfast made it all a little better! The scrambled tofu was a very good attempt, especially by a cafe that mainly sells meat options! I’d like to see perhaps an option of a vegetable sausage or a meat alternative, as I prefer alternatives rather than ones with veggies in. (Yes I hate mushrooms so they’re being eaten for me here. Apparently very good though!).

Good corner location for cafe. Slightly offhand welcome and no clean tables, but one was cleared for us on request. I though the food was very good, nothing special in style but fresh, hot & tasty. All cooked to order, so some delay is to be expected. I though his a good place for a simple easy lunch.

Nice cafe, excellent food, with attention to detail and quality. Just would be better if it felt less basic, and more cosier inside.

Dog friendly. Very friendly, good service, clean restaurant. Smoothies and cream tea were great. Waitress gave the dogs some snacks and then asked if they wanted a drink . I requested milk and they happily obliged.
